Maine Highlands

The Highlands are so fun to explore and are THE place to go for fall colors and moose sightings. As the Appalachian Mountains make their way through Maine, the communities you’ll find are set in the hills, on the lakes and along the winding rivers. Destinations like Greenville, Rangely and Millinocket all provide very different sorts of travel experiences.

In the winter, the Highlands are home to several world class ski resorts including Sugarloaf, Saddleback and Sunday River. This region is beautiful, quiet, and absolutely worth exploring.
